Took my truck for a proper run since fixing the diesel cooler, and fitting a digital temperature gauge.
First time that i had actually monitored the running temperature to such a precise level on any of my vehicles.
Went on a run around the new forest in south Wiltshire ,Hampshire and monitored the temp.
Most of the time it was on 87 , rising on 89 when i pushed it up a hill or down to 84 on a long descent. But most of the time it varied from 86 to 87 on the level.
Obviously not sure how well its base calibtation is but these temps seemed good to myself. External temp was 12.
It was really interesting to see how how the temp would raise by 1 then 2 degrees in 30 seconds of hard work then drop by the same as i was coasting down a hill by the same rate. On a run along the M27 for a couple miles the temp rose to 89 as i floored it to 70 then dropped to 87 as i maintained this for 2 miles.
On a 20 year old truck am quite pleased with these temps and how the system seemed to react.
