Hi

Anybody tell me why TD5's have not got the slot in the roof rails to take the bars? Was it another system to use the rails as a roof rack or are they just for show ?

There were a different set of cross bars intended for the Disco11, however, as I had a set of cross bars (with the little spring mounted prongs), I just drilled a couple of holes into the roof rails and hey presto, all sorted.

Anybody know what the TD5 bars are like then and how they fix onto the rails?

They 'clamp' onto the rails and lock wiv a special key, got mine off ebay you should find several on there.

I use my Dad's old ones from his Fiat tempra they clamp round the bar and tighten with a bolt and cover with a lock.

Not the proper ones but the price was good.
