Hi i have a 2001 90 td5 and my rear crossmember needs repairing or replacing? On inspectiob of it the back part of it which is welded to the chassis legs seems very sound and solid but the outer bit where the tow bar fastens is very thin and needs patching. My question is could the outer section be replaced by making a template out of cardboard and then cut out that shape on a sheet of steel and seam weld on is this poss?

Cheers lee

They are double skinned if the outer has gone then the inner will be just as bad.
Just had my 2001 90 done by pressbrake you won't find a better bit of kit.
