hi all
i have a 99 TD5 and have recently replaced the air bags on the rear. since i have had it, when i turn the engine off, about 10 seconds later i get a hissing sound from the rear and the rear suspension drops a few inches on both sides and stops!
is this normal for air suspension??
also when its ticking over and stationary, i sometimes hear, what i can only decribe as air releasing like that of lorry air brakes???? although not as long or as loud!!
any ideas please or is this normal too?

many thanks

nothing unusual... if the system keeps the level over night then everything is ok > SLS operation : "....When the vehicle is stationary, a door is open and the ignition is off, the SLS system will allow the rear of the vehicle to lower to within 20 mm of the normal ride height as load is removed from the vehicle. ..."

had mine a year now. replaced the bags last november coz one was dropping overnight. fine now.
and yes, it does the same as yours sharky.
