In the middle of the night horn goes off continually(very loud).Alarm fob had no effect. Stopped by thrashing the steering wheel. Did it again after an hour or so stopped by one bang on the steering wheel. Scared of being killed by the neighbours so I pulled the horn fuse. Any ideas?

That is funny LOL, I can just imagine you at 3 in the morning beating the crap out of the steering wheel!!!!

Anyway, jokes aside, was it wet or raining when it did it?
Reason I ask is you could have a chaffing earth wire to the horn and a water droplet on the bare wire is completing the earth to the horn. Or water in the fuse box.

It may sound strange but I had a similar problem with a disco with the alarm going off in the rain, it took me absolutely ages to find the fault but the cause was a chaffed wire in the N/S/R door (so small, you could hardly see it). In the wet, water would trickle down the outside of the wire, when it got to the chaffed bit, it connected the wire to earth inside the door an set the alarm off. Also in the rain, the interior lights would flicker on and off when driving.

Strangest intermittant fault I've ever seen and as said, took me ages to find the cause.

I had this recently, no rain or wet just the simple fact that the button was not central in its hole on the s/wheel. I now check most days that they are `up` and central as to avoid being nearly down far enough to accidentally sound the horn.

Had same problem and it was not funny at all.And I found it was one of the buttons on the steering wheel was not center and the damp in the cold night air was helping make the final contact of the switch.
