Hi all,

Been looking at a new bulkhead for my project as my old one is well rotten. After looking around I've decided against a galv bulkhead as ash tree are far too expensive and my local galvaniser is a bit **** at best.

Anyway I've seen a number of good second hand bulkheads off td5s and pumas. Will they fit straight onto a 200 or will they need some modification?Bear in mind that I'm also replacing the tunnel and seat box while I'm at it

I believe a newer bulkhead will require a newer tunnel, which will in-turn require a newer seat box

Is there no chance of a repair to yours? you could send it further afield to get it repaired if you dont trust your local chap???

td5 fits ok

Been looking for this too. Found this thread on a Evo forum! And shows step by step a TD5 to 200tdi I think!

Not viable to repair, too much needs doing. I've seen bulkheads in good nick for £300-400 but they are off newer land rovers.

Hmm, thanks, looks like those mods were so he could use the old tunnel etc which I'm not too worried about at the moment

Mines a td5 bulkhead - cheap find on fleabay!

We have fitted a td5 bulkhead on our 89 td, got it galved in walsall for £80 with no problems.

There's only one galvanisers near me and what I've seen if them at work, I wouldn't want them to do it for me.

Wedge Galvanizing
Take a drive round the back first and see if you can catch someone who works there, i got told this afterwards! Along with the offer of buying a 110 chassis that had been left and not collected!
