My 2003 facelift TD5 ha started leaving deposts on the drive underneath it. Taken along with the smell of Diesel that seems to be wafting from the engine bay, and having perused the forum, I guessed that my Fuel pressure regulator was knackered. I nipped the discovery round to a mechanic mate who had a quick look and said that he couldn't see any evidence of diesel leaking from the area of the regulator but there was some running off the bellhousing.

Alongside all of this, there seems to be puddles of water formed below the pedestrian door when the engine is turned off. is this likely to be from the climate control system somewhere? The water is clearto taste althought here is some evidence of diesel in it from the rainbow effect on the drive?

Dont want to change the regulator at £120 if its not likely to be that =.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

hi my disco is doing the same fuel regulator on way it will leak more as time goes by if you take the cover off the engine a look at the rear off side the regulator will look damp & if you wipe a finger along the bottom of it you will feel it is leaking the water on the near side will be the a/c the leak off pipe is on the near side of the gear box hope this helps

ps mine has been leaking for a couple of months still not to bad but with price off fuel think it time to change

How many miles has the car done ?.

Mine leaked at 60k.

It also had a leaky clutch slave cylinder, which drips from inside tha beel housing.

Del.

Mines done 64000 and has been owned since new. I suppose the only way of knowing if its the slave cylinder is to dig inti the gearbox?
If it is the AC leak off pipe I guess there is no long term problem?
