I have a 2000 Disco TD5 which has run well until last week when it developed a misfire over 3000rpm,
it would still run OK until I had to move it to let a truck into our yard.Came back out later and it would not start so contacted a friend with a Nano to find the fault and no activation of the Nano.
I am familiar with the inlector harness and oil in the ecu but ecu is clear,any ideas re the nano.

Yes exactly,no light up at all

Yes I have checked every fuse on the vehicle and can find no proplems and the nano works fine on another td5.as a point which fuse is most likely to give this problem as I will try replacing it

iirc it is fuse 20.

Yes that was the one I changed to be on the safe side,I am starting to wonder if the ecu is faulty

if it is wiring and cabling you want to play with then @sierrafery is you best bet.

Does the yellow light for the heater plugs come on when you turn on the ignition?
Just had a similar story with mine and it was the main relay it's its fed from the inertia switch under the bonet you will find it under the drivers seat on mine there is a black relay and two yellow ones, the main relay is the middle one (yellow), when I replaced it the heater plugs kick in the fuel pump starts and the nanocom connects.

maybe in a Defender, here it's about a D2, that relay is in the engine bay fusebox R9 and it has nothing to do with the OBD socket's feed

Thanks for the info,I will check thaat out,its strange as the fuel pump runs and all dash lights seen to work,engine cranks over but does not start.
The nanocom is working fine on another D2 so other than you info I am at a loss.

Have you checked the fuel flow / pressure at the FPR?

If FL3 is OK measure for voltage in the OBD socket across pins 16 - 4 , 16 - 5 and 16 - body and report the results

Have you thought about injector seals. I had the same last year and injector seals cured the problem
