Hi there Landmark, just for my personal interest and perhaps to expand my knowledge base - why do you want to flush your pas system?
Did you know that if you are going to do this "by the book", you will need to topup/refill with LR pas and ACE fluid which comes out at about £12 per litre? ATF is NOT recommended.

put a pipe on the bleed nipple on the steering box and open it a small amount start the engine and just keep filling the tank as said atf not recomended but it been in mine all the time i have had it and i have done 25k but its up to you if you take the risk
While taking rad and intercooler out i noticed that the power steering pipes that run underneath rad were badly rusted and i purchased new ones and then went about fitting them and filling and bleeding the system. I noticed that the fluid was very cloudy and looking through the history it did not look like it had ever been replaced. I used the correct fluid to refill (LR extreme temp pas fluid) and at £15 al litre at my local, i didnt fancy using many litres of this Gold juice to fill Jam jars up and was hoping hat some sort of safe flushing oil could be used first.

Mines just had a new PAS box and pump, flushed (although was not a lot in there) and now runs on ATF aswell, the new steering box says ATF can be used as it is on a LOT of cars. I was one for saying stick to the Land Rover stuff, but on the flip side it does become expensive and hard to get "over the counter", so ATF it is now and if its good enough for the ZF cannot see any issue with the PAS system tbh. I will most likely stick with ACE fluid in the ACE system unless I have big issues with it and that will probably get changed as well.

Hi, I have a 1999 td5. After four months of ACE leaking problems I have decided to replace it and as soon as possible! 2 problems! 1. I couldn't do the job myself. 2.I live in northern Germany between Hamburg and Lübeck and can find no mechanic who has any idea regarding ACE problems.My nearest landrover dealer in Lübeck would not replace the ACE.No Landrover dealer would!
Do any of you out there know where I can download a laymans diagram on how to go about this? A video would be wonderful!
It seems nobody here in Germany has heard of the 'ACE removal kit.'! I would order it from the UK but without simple instructions it would be a wast of time! Any suggestions (almost any!) very very welcome!

Can I suggest you use one of your threads on this subject and stick to it, you seem to be posting all over the place.
You should download a copy of RAVE. All instructions are on there, for fitting Anti roll bars, drop links etc.
