It didnt cure your problem but how do you know it made no difference on the temperature as long as you dont have a gauge to monitior it? ... that cowl is compuslory for the cooling system anyway even if it didnt fix your issue and it reduces the engine temp i'm sure, a proper cooling fan will not fix the problem but that doesnt mean you dont need these things... untill you dont read live data to see inputs you'll not know

Well I went 15 miles to get it and it did t faulter....on the way home stupid no boost mode again with periods of it deciding it wants to boost....I think actuator is next but only after I meet up with someone off the forum link you sent me who has offered to read it with his nanocom...so I am trying to get it read

Another thing, try to stop the viscous fan with a rolled up newspaper with engine running when the radiator is hot... if you can that's a problem

Yesterday I fitted a 2nd hand turbo and actuator and it seems to have sorted my boost issue...
Hi Cotney05

Sorry to revive this old thread but I have the exact same issue. When my td5 reaches half way on the Guage the it looses power and eventually switches off.
