I'm looking at buying a 90 but can't decide on a TD5 or 300tdi.
I've seen a nice TD5 county on a y plate but it's 9 gand. Is this a good price for a TD5? or should I hold out for a 300tdi??

Seems a lot of money. Guess it depends on how many miles it has, and what condition the chassis is in. I would expect a galv chassis for £9k.

I personally prefer the TD5 to the 300 and I have a 300. It sounds cooler, has more power and is less agricultural.

Looking at e.g. Ebay and Auto Trader it seems that TD5s in good condition, particularly CSW models in near original condition, are getting quite collectible these days and high prices are being demanded. If you're on a budget, then you might want to hold out for one that is a bit less than mint condition cosmetically but which has a solid chassis and sound engine, which may be a bit cheaper. If you manage to get a post 2002 one it might be better they'd ironed out a lot of the teething troubles with the engine by that point.

This one has 78000 miles on it but its by no means perfect

I'm preferable to a 300tdi, easier to work on, and fairly forgiving

However a td5 is probably better to live with,
