I'm using the recommended 5W 30 fully synth oil, but it's comma X-Tech, but I too am changing it at 6K with both filters. I also do the fuel filter whilst I'm at it.

The fuel filter is unrelated, and won't need changing anywhere as often as the engine counterparts.
[I'm still laughing at the universal tractor oil comment]...

Depends where you are in the world and the quality of the fuel IMO.

In some ways you're correct. However, LR saw fit to have an electrical connection to original filters for water contamination warnings (was this due to being sold/adventuring worldwide and thus bringing varying fuel quality into the equation?) . This has never been connected in my ownership BTW
, so the next best thing IMHO is to swap the (non-electrical contact) filter at a relatively short interval for the little extra cost. Mind you the filters do come equipped with a tap on the bottom anyway! Not if you run biodiesel,the oil stays translucent for thousands of miles

My comment really applies to what I feel is an over-requirement of changing your fuel filter at the same time as your oils/oil filter. It not so much a 'quality of fuel' scenario - it's just that in many environments, condensation forms in the supply tank and then you pump into your car.
But water won't damage a modern fuel filter anyway, and doesn't mix with the fuel. And as said, it's easy to drain off. Changing it every 6k seems odd.
Fuel quality is usually about the cetane & sulfur content and other legal matters & such like... but if you're into quality then I'm guessing you're into synthetics or bio's too.
