Hi all, loads of useful info on the forums, new to the site and could do with some myself. Just had the oil cooler and head gasket replaced on my 99/00 Defender TD5. It ran fine before replacement, no fueling problems or otherwise just the usual smoke, oil/water mix and confusion in which one to change so did both. Drove fine for a day then the fuel cooler pipe from FPR came off and dumped fuel to empty. Filled up with juice and it drove fine for half a day then cut out. Tried usual purge procedure (many times) as the fuel pump was howling, no joy. So replaced filter, also replaced FPR. Started first time ran for about half and hour and cut out again. Fuel pump sounds ok, fuel getting up to the FPR (pump prime sounds longer running than usual) but sounds loud around the fuel cooler. Sometimes if left the engine will run for a short time but cuts out and won't re-start. Head disturbance or fuel line (FPR cooler pipe) comming off. Any ideas please?

Exact thing happened to me last week after the head gasket was replaced on my disco, mine took ages to bleed and get running again but once it did it hasn't had a problem since, i initially thought i might have dragged some crud through from the bottom of the tank after it running dry but i'm not sure.
