hi, my recently purchased 2000 td5 still wont start.batt fully charge/half a tank of fuel, (which may come in usefull later!)
it was diagnosed by the aa as a fuel pump which wouldnt power up, this has now been replaced, but the pump still wouldnt power up.
have checked and changed fuses and relays, all to no avail, checked fuel pump earth continuity, which is ok, checked continuity between pin 87 and fuel pump, and this is ok,
bridged pin 30, and 87, on fp relay, and pump runs.
pin86 on fp relay shows 1.7v, checked continuity between 86, and wire just at back of black plug c658/pin5 blue/purp,(by pushing multimeter probe through wire insulation) which is ok., voltage here reads 1.7 also
disconnected black plug from emcu, and measured voltage on pin5, which is just less than 11v, contacts are clean and grot/oil free, and continuity from plug to measured point at rear of plug used before was ok.
but as soon as i plug it in the voltage measures only 1.7.
q1)am i reading the wiring diagram correctly the fuel pump relay (r1) pin 86 is the switching "power in" pin for the f/p relay from the emcu.
q2)i dont see any heater lights on the dash is this correct
any suggestions of someone in stafford to take the thing to to have it checked would be appreciated (apart from the scrapyard.... for now!)
