Yes sorry mate forgot to say changed under bonnet one aswell. With no joy put them all back on the other car and stared up straight away. Cheers
Do all the parts you changed have matching part numbers to the ones you removed ? And is the bcu coded to the correct gearbox type?

As I learnt There are a few different types of fuse boxes if the codes don’t match it might not work could be the same for the bcu too but I’m not sure on that. If all the codes match then I believe the Instrument cluster is also part of the system that connect the ecu to the bcu so maybe look into that but again I’m not 100% if I’m wrong someone correct me please

So to be clear do you still see the crossed B with the replacement BCU too or what's the problem? it doesnt crank or it cranks but doesnt start or what?

Hi yes sorry still have the b on dash after replacing bcu and both fuses boxes and trying to let them syn for 5-10 mins. Turn key and no crank what so ever nothing happens at all. Car runs off relay for 3 seconds then cuts out sorry about the confusion cheers Callum

then the serial data bus between the BCU's C0661 - 1 and IDM(C0587 -17) is probably interrupted, you'll have to make a continuity check on that wire , see electrical library, connector views.
