Morning all,
After 115,000 miles my clutch is getting at bit noisy first thing in the morning and now the weather is warming up I'm planning to drop out the gearbox and fit new...
DMF
Clutch cover and plate.
Crankshaft, gear box, and gear box to transfer box oil seals.
Spigot bearing and clutch release bearing.
Master and slave cylinders.
Have I missed any thing?
Whilst I'm in there I'm also planning on fitting Disco high range in the transfer box.
But I have a question, after inspecting the DMF and clutch cover. They are both quite roughly finished
certainly look to me like they have just been 'roughed out' on the lathe. Is this normal? I was expecting a good smooth finish on both... pics attached
Any top tips on the job greatfully accepted,
Cheers Mike.

They look normal. The clutch plate will polish the surfaces a little with use.
Don't forget clutch fluid and plenty of it as they can be a bugger to bleed.

Cheers Shifty,
Yes I have overlooked fluids, I'll get some MTF and brake fluid on order. What oil for the transfer box?
Manual says Texaco multigear 75W-90R, I think I used EP 80-90 last oil change but can't remember now...
Mike.
