Hi, was hoping someone could help.
My td5 disco seems to have not a lot of power when it is under 2500rpm.

It seems worse when it is cold/first 30 mins or so.

Feels as though the turbo is not kicking in.

Does anyone have any ideas?

There's a few reasons for these symptoms and I'd recommend doing a search on here to read relevant threads.

You say that the turbo feels as though it isn't kicking in, but perhaps the turbo is kicking in here around 2500rpm and the problem is with the EGR, MAF sensor or.....well, read those other threads and they'll give you more information than I can.

Mine wont rev above 3000 until it is warmed up, I think there is something in the EMU to prevent damage to a cold engine.

Without getting the engine on a diagnostic terminal I would not like to say if one component or another is faulty, but TD5 in std trim is a bit gutless at 2000rpm and below.

A remap will completely cure this.I use Mike at Dynachip - £225 to £250 depending on year on TD5.

Thanks for all the suggestions, will drop it off for a diagnostic. I have had a few td5s before and something's not right on this one.
Will post once I know what's up.

After getting it diagnosed, whereby nothing showed up- apart from a high O2 reading.
Changed the air filter and the air mass meter and it goes fine now.

Would never have guessed at this.

£30 amm, £5 air filter 10 mins to fit
