Cheaper to make the 300tdi more powerful and it is so much more reliable but yes it is possible
 
A company did it a few years ago. Can't remember for the life of me what they're called, but they were at a show with the vehicle last year and it looked factory standard.
LOT of work though.
 
So you (potentially) want to put a less reliable engine into an older vehicle
for reasons of a possible power increase on a non "performance" vehicle?

Personally what really puts me off of the TD5 is the horror stories of the block cracking, not read anything comparable about the 300 (and not read much in general about the 200) :)
