The Injector Wiring Harness on my '03 TD5 needs changing, there's the tell tale evidence of oil by the multi plug.

There's a big price difference between genuine the Land Rover replacement item AMR 6103 and the aftermarket items - £60 as opposed to £28 or less, The same goes for the rocker cover gasket, LVP 00020.

Is there any difference in quality between genuine and pattern parts in this wiring harness?
A new Fuel Pressure Regulator was changed last week and I bought a genuine Land Rover part.

Can I have your opinions please?

I've replaced two injector looms on td5's with aftermarket parts and had no issues, wouldn't bother with genuine part IMHO. What I would do is fit a genuine rocker cover gasket though as the pattern one did start to weep after not long.

+1. The cheap rocker cover gasket I fitted to my 110 is weeping so i have just bought a genuine one to replace it with.

I done mine in the Summer with a cheep one £26 ebay and ebay gasket with no problems 4000miles later :crazy_driver:

hey guys,
I would like to repeat the question and ask if anybody observed differences between aftermarket injector harnesses and original/genuine?
Did anyone have quality issues with those?

Hi. Yes, first time when i knew nothing about LR i bought "Allmakes", it leaked after less than 6 months and the engine ran like sh*t with it, then i bought "OEM Leoni" this lasted aroundf 1 year and the engine ran a bit better, meanwhile i've studied a lot and realised that only Genuine LR is the way to go, and so it is... it started leaking after 6 years but the engine ran better from the beginning with it, now i'm on the second genuine and after 6 years it's still dry but i keep checking it cos i expect it to leak soon... IMO only the genuine ones are reliable, the rest are lottery and you'll hear customers who are pleased with aftermarkets, the lucky ones

well, after having so much information, I decided to inspect visually the injector harness. cables were OK, if I touch them, nothing changes to the engine... however, occasionally, the engine was working on 4 cylinder only...

considering that the problem might be in the connector itself, as many of you wrote before, I got a screw driver, and bent a little the connections in the harness for injector 1, the one with errors.
1 day driving, everything is fine. will analyze more and order the new harness.

Well, another 2 days, driving with temporary repaired harness (tightened contacts for 1st injector) and it seems ok.
It looks that the harness is faulty because of the loose contacts as some other guys stated before too.

Also, another temporary measure for me, was the relocation of the ECU as shown in picture.
This way, it's connectors are higher than the other side of loom (in engine head), and I have not so much oil coming to red connector now.

Again, this is a temporary measure, to have a driveable car until received the new harness.

Sierrafery, does that mean that the genuine harness is being produced by another company and not LEONI as many suppliers advertise it as OEM?
