Decided to cure my injector harness oil leak last week, took off the cover and installed the new one no problem looks fine.

BUT noticed that I have some scoring on one injector cam and follower, and slight marks on the corresponding cam.
I started to read up on this, saw the thread: "TD5 Ticking" on here, and found the similar story at :
http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/132254-td5-camshaft-damage-any-input.html

Is anyone else seeing this problem? any insight as to why it happens?
What I see so far it seems to affect only one cam-rocker out of the 5 in every case.

Lucky I read up on this before making any move as there seems to be two different type cam shafts- rockers - and even adjusting screws for EU3 engines and pre EU3 units ----- beware !
The 15P S/N and later engines have a larger sweep angle of the rocker to create a higher injector pressure and rocker parts cannot be interchanged, with the older set up.
I decided to try and find a decent used cam shaft and hopefully the followers to go with it, but as my engine has 113,000 mls and I have to take the head off to do the cam shaft, I am thinking of holding off and doing a big job including the crank shaft shells and rings early next year.

I have managed to get hold of a Pre EU3 rocker assembly and I am going to measure up the cam follow rollers on it and compare with the one on my later 15 P cam roller If they are the same then I will drill out the little metal slug which retains the roller spindle and put one of the other good condition rollers onto my shaft as a temp measure, until time and funds are available.
If necessary I will tap the rocker and shaft and replace the retaining slug with a grub screw.

Just wondered if anyone else has attempted anything similar or has any experience to share?

Just a guess, but is there an oil feed obscured or blocked on the scored cam?I do hope I haven't got this to look forward too.

I wondered about the same thing (remember the ford engines) looked in the workshop manual and it says "rocker shaft and arm lubrication is by splash" so I don't suspect a blocked feed.
I hope you don't have this one too my engine was sounding great and I was feeling dead chuffed having just done the clutch and DM flywheel.

injector cam is under a great deal of pressure , and ive seen it a few times ,it would seem to me poor oil or changing
