My heaters seem to work fine initially but after a while they start to go cold. The strange thing being that its only the drivers side that goes cold, the passenger side will continue blowing hot.

If I turn the he4ating system off, leave it for a couple of minutes and then turn it back on, it works again but the cycle just continues.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Air lock or partial blockage of the heater matrix.

Might be being stupid but I have a half hour driver to work and it only does it about 20 minutes into that. PLus I have no problems with the actual cooling system itself.

I stand by my original reply - For now at least :)

I am inclined to agree.

Go through a simple check as follows. Heater on to hottest setting. Start car from cold with expansion tank cap off. Bring up to warm idling on your drive and squeeze the top hose gently, taking care that the viscous fan is near. Once the car is to operational temp, unscrew the bleed screw a 1/4 turn on the top hose and re tighten once coolant flows in a clean stream. Put expansion tank cap on and take for a test drive.

This method will clear any airlocks in your system.
