Some scumbags stolen my Discovery TD5 headlights on the 7th February 2014 Birmingham area, 5 weeks previous they nearly had my back lights but they got disturb by my neighbour last year a fellow disco td5 had his lights stolen as well. At present veh is in for repair as they cut the wiring and damaged my bumper and headlight fixings, these scumbags don't realise how much inconvience and cost to the owners of landrover they cause If they want them they should do what everyone else does and work for it. I would not recommend buying them of eBay has 9 out of 10 they are probably someone's else stolen lights. It is recommended by a police officer to etch your reg onto the lights or even your postcode.

I disagree. They are well aware of the trouble and inconvenience they cause. They just don't care about that sort of thing. That's why they are what they are.

Etching won't work as they will just sand it off. Much better to get a Dremel and go deep. Looks a bit of a mess, but might just make them think twice and would certainly make it easier to find your lights again should they turn up on another vehicle locally.

Best to spend a day in the shed and hack yourself out some brackets to replace that silly bit of plastic that holds your lights to the slam panels.

Also get some door courtesy light switches and wire them in parallel to the bonnet alarm switch. Mount the switches behind the 2 L-shaped panels that go between the front bumper and the bottom of your lights. Those have to come off before they get the lights, so your alarm will go off before they actually have your lights in their hands.

Park up to a wall whenever you can.

Single bar brackets will come off in a second with bolt croppers. Some farmers down south use a kind of steel strap - they come off with tin snips.
