I think I have a failed glow plug, car difficult to start when cold, misfire for a few seconds and Blue/White smoke. Starts fine when warm.

Decided to have a look yesterday but the plugs look a nightmare to remove.

Can anyone offer any tips on how to remove them?

Rave is not really helpful, just says "remove engine cover and remove 4 glow plugs".

I have lent my double jointed midget to a mate by the way.;)

Seriously there are only 4 number 5 does not have one by design. No idea why it was done that way
Probably 'cos they only came in packs of four or six. If they'd bought in the packs of six they would have ended up with thousands of odd glowplugs :D

Easy to do, quarter drive sockets are the way

A pair of long pointy pliers are a big help getting the connectors on and off

I now have 4 new ones but won't be able to look at changing them for a couple of weeks.
Am I going to risk any engine damage in the mean time?
Cheers
Y
