MTF94 is the oil to use, it's properties are better matched to the needs of the 'box and it holds it's viscosity at higher temps better than ATF DexronIII.

You can get it from an LR dealer or most auto factors or:

LRseries.com

I know this is an old post but can I use castrol syntrans 75/80 as I have 20 litres of it I need to change my oil or something my gears are getting harder to select and 2 nd is crunching if I change gear too quick

I wouldn't - very different from MTF94

You can use that in your diffs and transfer box but definitely NOT in your main gearbox.

Use MTF94 or Dexron III as it's easier to get. The absolute key is regular changes of the oil.

BTW, it's nice to see someone using the search function.

I will bear that in mind for next time thanks, as for the transfere box and diffs would you guys use the syntrans max or normal 80w90 gear oil??
