I saw a thread somewhere about a guy that had an issue with oil pressure. I can't remember exactly what the outcome was, but apparently there was a hole in the filter that allows the oil to flow through and on the cheaper filter the diameter was smaller restricting the flow. I was astounded that when you considered the amount involved in a filter that they punched the wrong size hole at a critical point! It was something like a 7mm hole in the cheaper filter compared to 11mm in the reputable manufacturer. I think it equated to about twice the area in the better filter which gives considerably less restricted flow of oil.Am I the only one who isn't precious about what filters I use? I use what ever is available and at a good price for all of my filters. A set of filters tends to only last me about 2-3 months with the mileage I do anyway. I work on the principle that the oil is fresh the engine is in good condition and with the regularity of changes it is well flushed so at that point a filter is a filter imo.
