Evening all.
I am currently working on my 2000 td5 font bearings.
The old ones taken off consisted of a spacer, tab washer and lock nut with a small collar on the outer edge. I was advised that the spacer could be removed from the equation by acquiring a thin nut (without collar), lock tab washer and locknut which i purchased as a claimed TD5 bearing kit. I have tried fitting these but the lock nut is too wide and won't allow the drive shaft hub to slide home. If I fit a second thinner nut (without the collar) from a different kit in its place everything fits, should I be fitting the narrower nut as a lock nut?
Thanks
