One thing i would suggest i to remove every bolt and loctite them in place. They can work loose.

You mean on the MBC? that could be easier said than done as there is no way of putting the adjuster bolt back exactly where it is now
 
So are they not very well made? that's the kind of thing you do with Britpart stuff !!
 
In the discussios where Defenders were involved the modulator was omitted as they dont have one but on a D2 if you want MBC fit it between the modulator and the valve
 
I bypassed the modulator on my Discovery as I thought that might have been the cause of my rough idle as I approached junctions, but it wasn’t! I have left it bypassed for now and haven’t noticed any difference

maybe cos you drive a defender too... a well working modulator improves the throttle response at low revs as it keeps the wastegate completely closed untill the boost builds up enough which doesnt happen without it

In that case I will try and work out where the boost hoses went on the modulator!
