Having been advised that I was trying to get the fan off the wrong way, (I thought it was left hand thread like a 300) I still can't get the thing off.
Anybody got any tips.

I would never normally say this but give it a wack with a hammer on the spanner to act as a impact gun

Yes, I've tried wacking it and it still won't move. You can't really lock the pulley up so you just depend on belt friction.
I want to get it off as I need to change the tensioner and its a sod to get at with the fan on. Its difficult enough trying to change the belt.

i got some special spanners for mine :crazy_driver:

if you can't buy or brow any give it a sharp whack, the right way with a big hammer and a cold chisel

I managed to wedge a big screw driver against two of the pulley bolts, it gave enough resistance to hold it enough for the main bolt to undo - mind you I hadn't been trying to undo it the wrong way first so you may need to invest in a proper tool to hold the pulley.

That Difflock locking tool has given me some ideas. Should have something at work I can adapt. Once you can lock that pulley up securely it'll come off. Tried the screwdriver but couldn't get it secure enough.
Thanks guys.

I have been assured the TD5 is R/H thread. I can't remember, I took mine off 3 yrs ago to fit a Kenlowe.
I used a cold chisel to whack one of the flats on that bl**dy great nut
