Hi Lads,

Old gearbox was making noise got a lovely new ashcroft r380 box and fitted it wth a neighbour along with full service and new 3 piece clutch. all good. but when we removed the old box the only connector we didnt see was the top crank sensor on top of the bell housing. 2 of the wires got pulled out of the block connector. i had a spare block connector and soldered the 2 wires 2 the new block connector and put heat shrink around for extra connection.

after everything was put back together it fired up 1st time great! that was yesterday drove it round was fine was takin a little long to crank to start than usual but thought it might be some air in the system after a new diesel filter. but today i got in to start it and it wont start, ive killed the battery trying. ive done 2 cycles of the fuel system and no joy. we also took out the air box and disconnected the block connectors but all seem to be refitted in place

any ideas would be appreciated
 
clutch releace bearing noisy first time i start in the morning when it heats up it seems okay mostly in revers in morning any ideas without stripping clutch out defender td5 iio o2 reg cheers
