Hi, the lights and other electrics in my td5 defender are playing up. A mobile mechanic had a look at them but left stumped after finding a blue box behind the fuse box, which when pressed or squeezed started the wipers or the lights or immobiliser alarm. Anybody know what this is? It has about 15 black wires coming from it, and has burnt out at some point.
When the mobile mechanic came out he tested the fuses and none of the lights fuses seemed to be working. Recently my lights have been very tempromental working when they decide too. The RAC fixed them by bypassing the switch and running the lights straight from the battery, which worked until I accidentally broke the wire he fitted, but this was never a long term solution.
Now when I turn my lights on the alarm sounds!
My lights have never been a problem until recently when a mechanic wired some spot lights up for me, which don't work either now. I really need my lights fixing soon! Is anybody a mobile autoelectrician that specialises in this kind of thing near Bolton?

Sounds like the spots were wired directly to the existing lights and have overloaded and cooked everything. You need to take the Landy to someone who knows what they are doing as obviously you dont
