I know because I've read this forum that lots of people blank their EGRs. It's not something I've given much thought to so far. One reason is that looking at MOT history (and in the rear view mirror) I know my TD5 has some emissions history. Logic suggests that the EGR is there to improve emissions so blanking it will make any emissions issue worse.
It looks like the issue has now been forced though. It's in the garage for a misfire and the the mechanic is strongly recommending blanking.
So... once it's blanked what should I expect? A massive boost in power? A massive boost in smoke? Both?
