Thanks for the information people blanked mine off tonight but yet to drive and check any change (td5)
just waiting for a kit to turn up to remove the valve completely.
Bloody EGR what a horrible idea!

So which is best, a plain blanking kit or an EGR replacemtn kit?
In my mind there is no doubt, if you install an EGR replacement kit it will include the blanking plate but also you will be able to remove the EGR valve with it's blocking the inlet airflow problem.

Remove the EGR, clean the MAP sensor and the ECU plugs with clutch and brake cleaner - and you're good to go.
