Hi all, so I be been trying to diagnose the “clunk” I get in 1st and 2nd and when lifting of the accelerator pretty much in all gears.

when setting off in 1st there’s what feels links a “shudder” but doesn’t happen all the time, if you “take up” the slack then it’s not as bad... which is what leads me to think drive line.

I have a suspicion that it is in the rear drive line, and I’m hoping it’s not gear box!

so A idea I had was to remove the rear prop and therefore disconnect the rear drive train temporarily and have a little drive to see if that removes the issue, then I know for certain it’s in the “back” any thoughts on this?

then If that solves it, I can get down to figuring out where in the drive Line the issue is...

A common cause of clunk on drive take up or power off is a warn A frame ball joint and or A frame bushes at the rear axle.

Thanks, I know the bushes are good as they were replaced when I rebuilt it. The a frame joint could be away, but it seemed ok when it was put back together. How would you check for a worn a frame ball joint?
