I cant seem to find the origional thread but some of you thought my vibration was down to a faulty front prop, well its been off for a while and it made no difference, i dont think the rears suffer so what else can it be if it was the transfer box wouldnt it be noisey constantly, i only get it under load ?

Its quiet when you start off but as the revs climb the vibration starts, if i floor it it goes away so its around mid throttle just before it changes up a gear

Ive done a lot of reading on this one as I have the same problem. Anyway,, to that end I now have a new set of genuine engine mounts and a pair of gearbox mounts, again, genuine. I would love to say this is the issue but until I get a chance to fit them I won't know. Currently taking the chance with a few days off to tackle more involved jobs - retro fitting climate control !

I dont know James and yes all gears, what does the damper do
stops transmission vibration, i fitter a recon t/box to a friends disco with the damper missing, he thought it was a useless extra wieght ,he went for a test drive, came back and asked for it to be fitted

I have the same or similar issue with my 2001 Auto. I've done lots of reading on this and it appears there is no obvious solution. Mine only does it around 2300-2500 revs and at about quarter throttle, if I press the pedal harder it smooths out.

I've learned to live with it but will watch this thread with interest.
has it still got the damper on rear of t/box,is this in all gears
First time I've seen this suggested, so I will crawl underneath later and check that.
