Hi there people, ok well i have recently had problems with my defender td5 and have traced it back to the ecu.to get to where i am now i have had the defender trailered to a number of garages and still have not been to any one that could tell me exactly what the fault was. In the end i sent the ecu to a company in england to get tested and now i no it was faulty.

Now that i have recieved the new ecu i have came across a new problem that i am realy struggling to find anyone willing to code the injectors to the ecu and set up the immobilser. I know this is a simple process for anyone with the right equipment but anyone i have spoke to instead of being helpfull has gave me a lecture that i should have taken the vehicle to them rather than trying to fault find myself. I am now that fed up that i am considering buying a hawkeye diagnostic tool and doing it myself as any so called land rover specialist i have spoke to has been trying to tell me lies and rip me off.

Is the hawkeye worth buying?

Yes tried monarch and got a lecture that i should have taken it him in the first place and he charges £300 to code injectors. Says it takes 3 hours.

the vehices i work on have a code number on each injector that yoy put into the ECU
the number is a parameter which the ecu will match for max efficacy,

the ECUs at work learn the code after a while if you dont tell it,

If it waas my motor i would take out the injectos ,wright down the codes and cyinder number, build it up and run it
