Hey chaps,

About to service my Defender got all the bits ready to go except the air filter.

Whats best to use? Read so many conflicting veiws on all the air filters out there.

Narrowed it down to

K&N
Terrafirma Foam
or am I best off sticking with a standard one?

I use the Pipercross 3 layer foam one. No problems with oil contaminating the MAF sensor, I just had a look today and the filaments were absolutely spotless. It seems to give a bit extra power, but have not measured it.

I have the K&N for 3 years now, 30 - 32 mpg and runs really nicely. My local garage cleans and re-oils every 12 months so has already paid for itself.

K&N are a complete and utter waste of money, stick with standard. K&N = air filter bling, nothing more other than 'a fool and his money'
