Morning all,

Just bought a solid looking disco 2 td5 and going through it now slowly sorting all the problems. An issue I’m having is that the vehicle will crank but not fire when starting after 12+ hours of none use. I am thinking that fuel is leaking back to the tank somewhere and in my head the logical thing to go for is the fuel pressure regulator. Has anyone experienced this problem? When it does finally fire after cycling the ignition several times to prime the fuel pump the exhaust produces white smoke. Could this suggest leaking injectors as the smoke stops after a quick blast round the block. When it’s running you really can’t fault it but I would like to get this problem fixed.

Thanks all

Do a search for TD5 fuel filter housing: it has a one way duck valve to prevent fuel returning to the tank. Many people have replaced the complete housing to cure their similar problems.
