Hi everyone

If some of you can remember my td5 commercial the traction control and ABS light don't light up on dashboard when starting the car.
Hill descent and handbrake light come on fine.

Bought a nanocom and was able to test the lamps, HD and parking brake all good.
Testing ABS light and TC these don't illuminate at all on the dashboard.

Voltage check to abs sensors are all fine (roughly 2volts or so).

Abs system works but traction control doesn't work (tried by lifting one corner of the car so the wheel is off the ground and engaging first gear and lift the clutch pedal just enough to see if TC would kick in).

Hill descent when the button is pressed, the light on dash illuminated but it beeps all the time (is this normal while in HD?)
No faults recorded on nanocom.

Any ideas on why the TC doesn't work on mine .

Also how the heck do you reset the clock mileage with nanocom as mine is flashing.

Thanks in advance .

Ps:anyone in Scotland Angus area requiring assistance with nanocom let us know as I'm happy to bring mine along to help.

Hi,
1. go with nanocom in BCU - settings - instrument pack and make sure that the ABS and TC warnings are not disabled
2. for the odometer go also in BCU -settings - transm/lock/warn and set the odometer error warn. to "not fitted''

after the settings are as needed ''write settings'' and follow the instruction

I'll have a look into that tomorrow.
The nanocom unit I have I tried to go into the td5 engine settings and it didn't allow me to(it's a nanocom evolution). It's deffo unlocked to the td5 engine as im able to read sensor values and do lamp testing etc.

Will give an update tomorrow on how I go with your advice mate.

Thanks

That's the only options I have in bcu-settings-instrument pack.

Cheers for the advice on the odometer, that's it sorted now.

TRC is for TC warning so it seesm that it's enabled so there is a bdge somewhere which made the warning invisible, check if there isnt black tape on the ABS and TC LEDs

Already checked mate, the very first thing I've done was to pull the clocks out and check the wiring and check for tape in them.

Will have another look tomorrow and look a bit closer see if I can find anything.

If you get to the cluster's connectors hook a piece of wire to a ground point and give earth in situ to connector C0233 pin 3(ABS) and pin 4(TC), with ignition on when earth comes to these pins the warnings should come on... if you see a spark or a fuse blows means that the bodge is with positive feed on these wires to keep the lamps off. For the pin disposals see Electrical library - connector views

Myself being a sparky I'm a bit uncomfortable with making fuses pop but I'll give it a try

Have you got a link for the connector views?

I've asked around to see if anyone would have any ideas on how to bypass the TC and ABS but it all comes down to nanocom And nothing else.

My car has a discovery owners club sticker but I would need to pay membership to access that club and use the search function to see if I can find the car and the old owner and maybe even search old threads regarding what has been done to the car.

Will try and look into it tomorrow and let you know how it goes(I'm away offshore in Thursday so time is a bit limited but will try give it a bash)

Thanks

The warning lamps are extinguished by positive feed on the earth path which comes into that connector cos the live on the other side of the LED is delivered by the IP so eventually measure for voltage on those wires with connector unplugged and if you get 12V that's the way they turned them off by splicing in with 12V into those wires somewhere

download this for connector views https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D8700125_05791262_69080?directDownload=true
