Problems with my clutch, there is hardly any pressure on the clutch pedal only when my foot is stamped right down. Making it hard to select gears! What should i check first?? Blead the system?

you have 3 options,slave cylinder, master cylinder, drop the gearbox.

Should i change the master first? Any way of checking each part without buying new ones?

I would go with slave cylinder first £10/15 on ebay.you would have to remove to check anyway. have you fluid loss.

Ok i have removed the slave cylinder and it was really dry behind so i guess there is something wrong with it. No fluid loss and no fluid running down the clutch pedal so guess the master is ok? I will order a new slave cylinder and try that cheers peps

Ok so i have changed the slave cylinder, the old one had no dust seal and was full of crud! Attempted to bleed the clutch and after ten plus attemps and still no pressure at all i tried to bleed it backwards with a pump oil can and the oil kept leaking from the bleed nipple threads even when almost tight?? Any ideas anyone??

Also what is the electrical plug for that connects to the master cylinder??

the electrical plug is for the clutch switch, it tells the ecu when the clutch is in use for the anti stall

had same issue with my previous td5.by the time i got the new slave on id lost all fluid.eventually bled thro by pumping pedal open bleed hold down tighten. pump a few times open hold down tighten etc.long process but got it in the end defo 2 man job forget easy bleed.
