Hi,

Having read, searched, chatted and looked at the options, heard about leaking sunroofs, problems with air-suspension and injector looms, I am still considering a TD5.

I have decided on an auto rather than a manual. I am aware of the absence of CDL on some D2s and that the internals are on some but not others. Early ones have the selector and internals, as do the 2004s (so I have read). But it is those in the middle, the ones I am looking at, where it is not clear.

So the question; is there an identifying sticker, plate or marker somewhere accessible that says if it is a 41D or 41D box (those with the internals)?

Thanks in advance.

Anthony.

Welcome regards diff lock if it's got another lever it's got it,if it ain't it as'nt .( as far as I know someone will put me right )

It will have 2 lever's anyway normal gear selector and one for Hi/Low.

The easiest way to find out if it has Diff Lock is to crawl under and feel for a small square lump in top of the front of the transfer box.

Ir just look on top of the second lever. If it just saus Hi-Low then it isn't fitted.
If it says Diff Lock it is.. or on the sticker in front of the second lever, can't remember if Disco has both....:D

Some have the Diff Lock fitted in the transfer box but the linkage isn't fitted, why this is only Landrover can answer.

Disco 2's have traction control which works really well and will get you out of most things hense most don't have diff lock.
