Hi everybody, I have a 2004 90 xs to which I have fitted a midland 98 cb, ehich works fine intill I start the engine, air con, winscreen wipers, well anything that runs on electric then I get so much interferance the cb is unsable in the lower chanels can anybody sugest anything I can do to try and cut this out to give me a few more channels to use?

Many thanks

Shaun

You've obviously picked up your power from somewhere under the dash. although normally this doesn't cause problems, try taking the power direct from the +'ive side of the battery (Don't forget you still need the in-line fuse).
The other thing that can cause it, is where you've routed the aerial coax, if that too close to motors etc then it can pick up interference.

Thanks for the replys, thats why I'm a little stumped as the power comes from the battery by way of the power point in a mud tray around the gearbox lever, the CB is fitted to the dog guard, and aerial coax runs down the rear ladder, under the rear door and along the passenger side of the rear tub, which is I belive should be free from anything that could corse interferance

hi Shaun, if you are nearby then drop in and i'll take a look n also try my own radio to rule out any probs with yrs

that would be my guess too. Try disconnecting the aerial at the CB end and see if you still suffer probs.
