i have a 1999 td5 es and was wondering if anyones got any idea what is buzzing from the middle to the back end this usually occurs when i switch the engine off but sometimes it's there when the engine is running. when i switch the engine off the buzzing starts then stops, starts then stops and so on this can last up to 10 mins someone told me it was the self leveling kicking in and was normal (land rover machanic) it's so annoying and because i don't take it off road i was wondering can i switch this off. i was also told that some of the newer models had a switch fitted so you could turn this off, is it possible just to pull the fuse to the compressor that's making this noise?

i bought it in october 2005 not been serviced since but may have been not long before i got it, still wondering if it can be disconnected some how?

Sorry, but what's the self-levelling got to do with going off-road?

Matt.

Oh yeah, now I remember, my P38 used to do that but I put parabolics onto it cos I can't understand all this new fangled gadgetry :D
