Hey guys.
As in my rangie brake thread ive pick up a 99 plate
Td5 Auto in GS spec.

Think i may have a problem and just wanted your advise before i get onto the dealer.

Now came to start it this morning, All started fine but there were two green lights
flashing on the dash The "S" and "M" and when i press the throttle nothing happens.

Turned off and re started and it was all fine.

So been testing and its done it 3 or 4 times now. If i put a 1/4 throttel on and turn the key starts fine every time.

Ive also noticed that when the lights are flashing there a buzzing coming from
the fuse box under the steering colum.

Any ideas ?????

Other than that the car is great and so much better on fuel than the rangie

The lights are quite common even mentions it in the handbook, when them lights are on the box is in limp mode 3rd gear only, dunno bout the buzzin tho

This issue is often caused by a battery in low state or charge or on it's way out.

First thing to do is put the battery on charge for at least overnight or better still a full 24hrs.

If problem persists it's indicative of a battery that will no longer hold it's charge.

The reason for this is that when you start the car the starter motor draws lots of current leaving little or no juice left over to power the transmission ECU, so it throws up fault lights.
