Hi guys,

I have searched the threads and can only find this question relating to a 300 series. I have just bought myself a TD5 GS auto 2003 had no problems with it what so ever and am really pleased with it.:D

But last night my father in law decided to helpfully point out that apparently there are major problems with the auto boxes on this age disco and they cost a fortune to fix.

I think it is just a bit of jealousy creaping in on his part but has any one had any experience/heard anything like this?

(by the way it is my first time posting so hi to everyone!)

Cheers - Disco :D

it has been known for them to burn out but its not common, i've replaced 2 auto boxes in 7 years so thats not bad. the oil cooler pipes sometimes break though and they'll **** ATF all over the place untill you lose drive, if you notice an ATF leak, get it sorted asap

also the ATF should be changed every 24000 miles, if you leave it, you'll have gearbox problems
