Hi All

Hope some in the 'zone' can help, due to the great weather here in the North East I decided to turn on the air con on my 2003 TD5 Discovery only to find that the passenger side is pumping out beautifully cold air and the drivers side - the important side -warm air. I have tried playing with the settings on the climate control panel but to no avail.

Has any one come across this and have a fix - I'm not sure if it just needs a re-gas but it seems strange to work on one side.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

hi mine did the same before it all stopped working found to be a leak had leak fixed & regassed all ok now might be worth just getting it regassed:)

Where did it leak from - is this a common problem or do they leak in various places. I havent seen any unusual leaks though apart from the normal power steering box leak!

hi mine was on the n/s/f behind the air filter long pipe that goes to the front behind the grill but take it to a aircon garage they can put die in the system you might be lucky & just need a regas most places its around £50

Do the manual diagnose check ... if no fault code then i think it's something with the heater assembly flap controlls

Thanks for the advice so far - have tried the manual diagnostics - no errors so will have a butchers at the rave cd later and maybe tackle the heater assembly flap tomorrow

Nothing to do with the heater flaps, the system is low on pressure and needs re-gassing. What you have to do is work out why its low........ ie if it has a leak or not.

Mine did the same when I got it (hopefully it has not got a leak), and yours like mine will just need a re-gas, remember tho a 7 seater air con needs more gas than a 5 air con disco, don’t let them tell you any different.

Hi there, same problem here, I had mine re-gassed about 4 weeks ago and it worked fine up until a couple of days ago, now the passenger side is fine but the drivers side warm air only, surely if it was a leak would it not blow warm on both sides, any experts out there with a theory?

hi because the system is zoned for each side the drivers side is the first side to stop working when gas is low as the passenger side is the first side in the system so it takes all the cooling then none left for the drivers side
as for leaks take it to someone who will put die in the system but you can check the pipes as i found it was the one that ran to the front that had rubbed on the body was the one leaking on mine:D

Will be doing the same myself, picked up a 02 Es that had very little use over last couple of years and AC needed regassing. Got it done and it all leaked out in two or three days. Pi55ed off they dd not pressure test it but will be going back in next couple of days.
