Tried the Buzzweld Plastic Paint today for door panels, thanks for the recommendation @bankz5152
V happy with the results, mist coat, then two top coats. My cards are battered to hell and scratched by the dogs but seem to have come up well.
Glad to see the back of the horrible grey/blue plastic!
Door cards are still drying but rear door was done and refitted yesterday, its got a bit of a dent in it, it pops out but then pos back in again.
Tried the boiling water / heat gun trick to no avail not that fussed about it.

Anyone suggest a cheap and easy lining for my station wagon to protect my other pride and joy, I have carry cases etc, but I am lazy and if its just to and from the studio cant be arsed to fully break it down. Was thinking of the foam interlocking mats, i have a few and already lined the floor with them, any suggestions?

Looks tidy, I bonded some faux Bentley leather to mine - looked **** so bought new - never herd of this coating. Well done mate
yea its really good, I have used plastic paints before either they wear off quick and just look pants.
Impressed with the Buzzweld stuff called PIO (plastic in one).
used to restore triumphs and had my fair share of ****e vinyl coverings and tubs of smelly glue......

Looks brilliant! Very smooth, paints very hard wearing so ya dogs shouldnt be an issue!

My 90 rear door did that too, how odd!!

+1 on the interlocking foam mats, they're great & very light weight, I use them for sitting/kneeling on when I'm working on my Discovery, I did have them in the back on the floor but didn't get round to refitting after the 25ltr can of gear oil developed a leak and went right through them, they absorbed quite a bit of oil too!

Really coming together now, shame about the rusty door frames

did iyou ever fix it?

tried boiling water / cold water and heat gun no use.
it will pop in nicely, but will pop out again if the wind blows normally plastic memory can be sorted with some heat....

Agree, I have them as load area matting in Def and my other van, I did try to stick them to the station wagon panels but they fell off as soon as it got cold. Any suggestions on a good adhesive?
I think I used high tack vehicle upholstery stuff candy floss spray stuff that you have to wait 10 mins to get max tack etc.

3M double sided tape at the joints & a cross through the middle was good enough for me, also meant any change of plans in the future saw 15 mins with a bottle of Meths and a cloth to clean residues sway

Never, just left it in the end. Tried everything

How about fibreglassing / epoxy a strip of steel or similar across it?

Edit: On the back of it :D
