Diff lock question. I just got a 1999 TD5 110 station wagon. It goes between Hi and Lo very smoothly but I'm having issues getting diff lock to stay engaged.
If I hold the lever over to the left, the amber diff lock light comes on but as soon as I take my hand off the lever, it moves a wee bit to the right and the light goes off again, so I figure it's not properly engaging. There's certainly no solid movement like there is going Hi to N or N to Lo.
Have read scary (to me) threads about taking things apart to get WD40 in there (i suspect the vehicle hasn't been used a lot off road in the last couple of years), but just wanted to check if what I'm seeing is how it's meant to be or not.
Thanks.
