Diff lock question. I just got a 1999 TD5 110 station wagon. It goes between Hi and Lo very smoothly but I'm having issues getting diff lock to stay engaged.

If I hold the lever over to the left, the amber diff lock light comes on but as soon as I take my hand off the lever, it moves a wee bit to the right and the light goes off again, so I figure it's not properly engaging. There's certainly no solid movement like there is going Hi to N or N to Lo.

Have read scary (to me) threads about taking things apart to get WD40 in there (i suspect the vehicle hasn't been used a lot off road in the last couple of years), but just wanted to check if what I'm seeing is how it's meant to be or not.

Thanks.

you will need to remove tunnel to sort in as well as lubing lever housing especially were shaft goes through the housing passenge side ,check plastic bushes on the pivot ,pivot can be adjusted too ,
