A chipped one might manage it but as they aint designed for that kind of sustained speed I wouldn't want to test it. Maybe you need to look at one of them BMWs that you're so frightened of.

Semantics... Funnily enough, I still have a BMW 3 series and it looks like I won't be able to sell that until I get my TD4 repaired! I am starting to wonder if I should just get rid of the TD4 instead, which I only picked up a MONTH ago.
