Just serviced my wife's 2000 TD4 freelander and like a complete nob have managed to snap the one of the injector fuel t-pieces (the plastic bit that the fuel lines connect to), it's just one side that broke and I've managed to bodge it back on with some superglue (engine runs ok). Did it whilst removing the crank case breather filter housing :/

Obviously this is only a VERY temporary fix!

Does anyone know what the part number is for this - fingers crosses it's not a complete injector replacement (doesn't look to be from photos of injectors that I've seen!).

Am I best off going to a scrappers/breakers yard?

And yes, I am a prat.

Yes, that is the part you need. Maybe someone else will know of cheaper.

The next screw-up possible is to lose the little spring clips that secure them in place.

Loads of threads here telling you how to remove the T pieces safely before changing the PCV, which of course you should have read before.

Sadly an expensive lesson for you. :(

I've just done my engine breather and was greatly relieved when Those 'T' pieces came out OK. I used the long-nosed plier method mentioned on here and it worked a treat.
Use the same pliers to remove the spring clips and you don't lose them.

As an aside, what is the correct tool to remove the wiring cradle bolts (mini torx heads), I'm sure its not the 'mole-grips' I used ;)

I used the correct sized torx bit from my toolbox - easy to find, halfrauds, ebay etc.

Anyhow, got a replacement leak rail, 25 + VAT from hudds landrover centre.

I removed and replaced the torx headed screws using a normal hex socket from my 1/4" drive socket set - it was a 4mm or 5mm if I remember correctly.
No bother at all.
The only torx that have beaten me are the ones that hold the MAF in its housing. Eventually I bought a Synergy2 and received a set of torx bits with it - funny little rascals called Security Torx with a pin in the middle. :)

I could have broke mine also when I replaced MY PVC also, but luckily I got away with it, only realised how flimsy they were when I pulled it off.

The filter in the pic looks terrible, Are you replacing with the new BMW non filter swirl vortex type PVC?

No, I've replaced it with a Landrover one as that was what came in the filter kit I ordered from the UK.

It will get changed at some point in the future though;)

mine was about the same:

Re the MAF, I was also unable to release them, (think it's 5-star security ??) so I took the blade of a small metal hecksaw, a piece of cloth around one side to protect my hands and sew a groove in the top of the two screws, now with a flat screwdriver I can remove the maf.

Bought a set of security torx of ebay for a few pounds (just in case)

I bought such a security Torx on Ebay as well, only one, security with the hole in the middle and I thought it was 5-star but no, was a 6-star, so on top of the two sets I alreaedy have (with the hole in the middle) I have now a 3rd extra item of one particular size.:D:D:D

Cowboys :p

There are 2 types of bolts you can get on them. It will be either E6 or E8, one of them is for when they had the crappy engine cover, the other is without the crappy engine cover :) Can't remember which is which though :p
