:(Hi. I am new to this but I have a 2007 freelander td4 with 150000 on the clock. It is a late reg freelander 1. The problem I have is that when you start the enging it will tick over ok with no problem but when you try to drive it when it gets to around 2000 rpm it's like it suddenly wants to cut out. Sometimes it will pick up again but it starts throwing out loads if white smoke which stinks strong of neat diesel. The engine management light comes on but if you turn it off and restart it the light goes out and it all starts again. My mate came up with a computer and the code on the Ecu is fuel fail pressure sensor. I have changed this along with the wire from the Ecu to this sensor but the problem is still the same. The injectors are all less than 12 months old and I've even done a spill off test just to check these are ok. There all still fine. The maf sensor is ok as if I disconnect it, it makes no change. It has a new boost control solenoid valve. And all turbo pipes are ok. I hope some can help me with this as its starting to p*** me off. Other than this problem it's been a great car.:(

The car is now with a land rover specialist. He checked the fuel fail sensor and the wiring loom and that was all fine. After more testing he found the Ecu was faulty. He's now fitting a new one on Monday so hopefully that will be it. Will let you know
 
This happened to mine with the white blue smoke and it was the fuel filter that was blocked.
£14 for a new filter and it was fine.
Hope you get it sorted.
 
I thought along the same lines. So the first thing I di was change all the filters includeing the crank filter. It made no difference at all. My mate came up with a computer which indicated the fuel rail sensor. We changed this along with the wire. I did notice what looked like a brake in one of the wires between the Ecu and the fuel fail sensor. This also made no difference and at this point to save my head of hair I decided to take it to a garage. Will post on hear when I get it back in case anyone else has the same problem.

I had to fit a high pressure fuel pump to mine 2 weeks ago. That just packed up as I pulled away from outside my house. No warning just cut out and wouldn't start. All fine again now.
 
Got the freelander back last Friday. It turned out to need the following. New ecu and reprogramming, new fuel pressure sensor, new low pressure fuel pump and 1 new injector. It now goes a lot better than it ever did. Going to have it remapped in a couple of weeks.
